How HMS removed, relocated, and reinstalled a Harris Centurion baler and Krause conveyor across town, on time and within budget.
When a Material Recovery Facility needed to move to a new plant across the city, they turned to Hoosier Machinery Solutions for a complete two ram baler relocation. HMS delivered the project turnkey and entirely in-house: removing the customer’s Harris Centurion two ram baler and Krause infeed conveyor from the original facility, transporting the system across town, reinstalling it at the new plant, and getting it baling again.
This is a valued repeat customer that has trusted HMS with both service and equipment over the years, and on a job like this, that track record matters. The baler alone weighs 51.6 tons, and moving a machine that size across town without damaging it or blowing the schedule is not an easy task.
HMS ran the entire relocation with its own crews. Structural technicians and in-house electricians worked side by side to disconnect, rig, and safely move the equipment, then reversed the process at the new facility, wired everything back up, and verified the system ran correctly. The scope covered removing the Harris Centurion two ram baler and the Krause infeed conveyor, along with tearing out an obsolete conveyor the customer no longer needed. The real challenge was the choreography: coordinating heavy transport and unloading for a 51.6-ton baler while holding to a tight timeline so the customer was back up and running with as little downtime as possible.
The system came through the move without a scratch. The project finished on time, every machine ran correctly at the new plant, and the customer was back in production without missing a beat.
Relocating heavy recycling equipment is one of the most demanding jobs a facility can take on, and handling the structural work and the electrical work under one roof is what keeps a move safe, fast, and on schedule. Hoosier Machinery Solutions self-performs removals, relocations, installations, and service on two ram balers and complete baling systems, so you are not juggling multiple contractors while the clock is running. If you have a move, an install, or a machine that needs attention, our Parts and Service team can help. And if a move ever turns into a decision to upgrade, we can match you with a refurbished two ram baler as well.
